Tobacco, from seed to smoke

Grow tobacco, cure the leaf, and turn it into cigars, cigarettes, NicNips and Bandy Drops to sell or share.

Quick start

  1. 1Buy a Tobacco Mother Seed from a Cultivator and pot it. In 24 hours it gives you a tobacco plant.
  2. 2Grow it on Enriched Farming Soil for 5 days and harvest 20 Cuts.
  3. 3Dry, shred and ferment the leaf into the four tobacco grades.
  4. 4Mix filler and binder, make a wrapper, then roll cigars, cigarettes, NicNips or Bandy Drops.
  5. 5Box them up. Each box holds 50 uses. Sell it, or click it to serve yourself or a friend.

Words you'll see

Cuts
The leaves you harvest from a tobacco plant.
Grades: Seco, Volado, Viso, Ligero
The four kinds of fermented tobacco, from mild (Seco) to strong (Ligero). Each is a mix of five leaf varieties.
Filler & Binder
The tobacco inside every smoke. Every brand uses the same filler and binder.
Wrapper
The outside: Cigar Wrapper for cigars and Bandy Drops, Cigarette Wrapper for cigarettes and NicNips.
Uncut
A rolled product that isn't boxed yet. You can't sell it; you box it first.
Oil blends
The scent. Each brand or flavour uses its own three, made by Pharmacy.
Research Credit
Earned from your Farmer training book chapters. Ferments and boxes use one.
Uses
Each box holds 50 servings. Every serve takes one.

Get your plants

  • Buy Enriched Farming Soil at the beYou sim. It runs on the seeds and water in your assets: just sit, start it, and click the packet to pick your seed.
  • Water it. These plants dry out fast. An Enriched Soil Irrigator helps, but water by hand too.
  • There are 20 varieties, each grown in its own season. You'll want all of them, so trade for the ones you're missing.

Ferment the four grades

In the Curing Barrel, mix 25 shredded leaves from five varieties and ferment them for about 8 hours to get 20 of one grade. You need all four. Which leaves go in each →

Make it and roll it

Filler & Binder2 of each grade + a few extras → 15. Curing Barrel, about 8 hours.
WrapperMake paper, then wrappers → 20. Organic Paper Station, about 2 hours.
Roll itFiller + Binder + Wrapper + the brand's 3 oil blends + wood chips → 15 uncut. Curing Barrel, about 8 hours.

Box it, sell it, smoke it

Box it15 uncut + packaging → 15 boxes of 50 uses each. Farming Potting Station, about 1 hour.
Sell itPut boxes in a vendor or on the markets, at any price you like. You can also sell your Cuts, dried, shredded and fermented tobacco.
Smoke itRez the box and click it, pick who to serve, and wear what arrives. A cigarette lasts about 3 minutes, a cigar about 5.
When you finish, you get a leftover: Cigar Band (cigars, Bandy Drops) or Dirty Butts (cigarettes, NicNips). Keep them: they're used in other recipes and to make tokens.
Kids and teens: NicNips and Bandy Drops are fine for everyone. Kids and teens who try a cigar or cigarette get sick.

Farmer tips

  • Start the 8-hour Curing Barrel jobs before you log off.
  • Keep a stack of Research Credits from your training book.
  • Cigarette packs need Cigar Bands, which come from smoking cigars, so run both.
  • Corojo is needed twice (Viso and the cigar wrapper): grow extra.
  • A box only serves while you have uses of it in your assets.
